FAQ
Here are some of the most commonly-asked questions about inward bound retreats and yoga travel holiday vacations. Got a question that’s not answered here? Just contact inward bound and we’ll be happy to help!
Where is Playa Guiones, Costa Rica? / Montego Bay?
Playa Guiones is one of the beaches in the northwestern Pacific coastal town of Nosara, Costa Rica. It is about 2.5 hours south of Tamarindo on the Nicoya Pennisula in the province of Guanacaste.
The closest airport to fly into is Liberia (LIR) and the drive from Liberia to Nosara is a little over 2 hours.
Montego Bay is the capital of the Parish of St. James and the second city in Jamaica. The city is in the northern part of the island and has a dazzling bay with miles of coral reef (now designated a marine park) and some stunningly beautiful beaches. When attending one of our yoga retreats at Round Hill, you will fly into Montego Bay (MBJ).
What should I pack?
This will depend on the retreat destination and activities involved. Prior to the retreat you will receive a packing list via email that will tell you everything you need to bring. For the yoga/surf retreats, you will need to bring a rash guard.
Do I need a passport?
For all of our destinations outside of the USA you will need a passport. If traveling to Asia or Africa, a Visa will likely be required. If you are attending one of these trips/retreats, this information will be included in your welcome letter.
Are vaccinations required?
For Costa Rica and Jamaica no vaccines are required. If traveling and unsure, please check the World Health Organization Website: http://www.who.int/ith/countries/vaccination/en/
What is Anusara Yoga?
I don’t know anything about yoga…what retreats would be best for me as a yoga beginner?
The yoga classes we teach are suitable for all levels. We have yoga beginners as well as advanced practitioners who come to our retreats. You will be notified if the course is focused on yoga training or yoga immersion. Or, if it is a specific style of yoga that you are not familiar with, please email us and we will be more than happy to assist you.
What kind of advanced yoga do you offer?
In our retreat weeks, we are always happy to work with students who want to take their practice to the next level.
We will be offering Anusara Yoga Immersions, Levels 1, 2 & 3, in a unique consecutive format from March 20 – April 10, 2009. You can invest in one week or take all 3 weeks. These are ideal if you want to learn about the principals and therapeutic benefits of Anusara Yoga – and are prerequisites to become an Anusara Inspired or Certified Teacher. We also promote and work with the Nosara Yoga Institute on several of their Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings. Living foods and raw foods are foods that contain enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that the body needs to heal and maintain optimal health. Cooking foods destroys more than 90% of its nutritional value and natural enzymes that the body needs to digest the food. At our living foods retreat, we show you how to use and prepare natural raw foods to retain those nutrients for good health. Yes, US dollars are accepted all over Costa Rica. We recommend flying into Liberia Airport, Costa Rica (airport code LIR). Yes, depending on the group size and requirements, we can incorporate a group into one of our retreats or help create your own very special experience. Please email us with your questions. The combination of exotic locales, superb instructors and all-inclusive packages have made inward bound yoga retreats among the most-respected in the world.
