From Joy…
I did my first cleanse in 2008 at Hacienda del Sol and it was a life-altering event. After completing the cleanse, I experienced more clarity and felt more vibrant than ever before. Giving my body a “break” from non-stop consumption and digestion allowed for a very deep healing and shift in my entire being. Menlha’s teaching, support and presence is absolutely magical. She is a true healer.
Yin & Yang Yoga
In ancient Chinese philosophy, yin & yang describe the opposites that exist in the world, such as light & dark or hot & cold. Yin cannot exist without yang and yang cannot exist without yin, they complement each other. Harmony and health are created when these contrasting aspects come into balance.
Yin is traditionally passive and introspective, and the perfect counter-balance to upbeat, energetic yang. So it is with yoga, that a yin style practice is slow and quiet with long-held passive poses, in sitting and lying positions. Relaxing and opening the body to more flexibility by allowing the body’s connective tissues to soften. By contrast, a yang flow is more active and dynamic, strengthening and invigorating the body and mind.
Yoga Nidra – Enter the Zero Stress Zone
The literal translation of Yoga Nidra is Yogic Sleep. It is an ancient form of meditation that will take you into the deepest levels of relaxation while still remaining fully aware. When practicing Yoga Nidra, your brainwaves drop into the alpha and theta state. As you progressively enter deeper and subtler brain waves you become more relaxed, integrated, expansive and present. Eventually, you completely shift out of identification with the body, mind and ego. In this deep state beyond ordinary waking consciousness, you naturally re-align with spirit, allowing you to effortlessly disengage from restrictive physical, mental and emotional patterning. Here, you are free to create a life that is an expression of higher
consciousness, rather than acquired conditioning.
Quen Koetter
Quen’s yogic journey has been evolving magically throughout the past 7 years, finding inspiration in array of different practices. She embarked with a weekly Hatha class, used as a tool for controlling the stress of her fast-paced television production job in London. Truly awakened by its profound effects on her emotional, spiritual and physical well-being, she quickly found a new, more conscious and balanced way of living. With a spirit of adventure and a passion for travel, she journeyed to India in 2005 in pursuit of a deeper practice, spending time studying the Sivananda tradition. In 2008 her path called her to the guidance of Don & Amba Stapleton at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica, where she completed her 200-hr Interdisciplinary Teacher Training, 100-hr Pranassage Practitioner, 100-hr Inner Quest and subsequently their 500-hr Professional Certification.
In addition, Quen is an ITEC and MTI certified Holistic Massage Therapist and is grateful to currently find ‘home’ to be Nosara, Costa Rica, where she assists in the facilitation of yoga training’s, is a practicing yoga instructor, body worker and co-director of Inward Bound.
Menlha Bruneau
I have been interested in cleansing and health & super foods since my grandfather started me gathering and eating dandelion greens. This was much more appealing and interesting to me than eating the standard things offered, like meat and potatoes. So as the years went by, I tried many diets and accumulated much information about what is healthy and what is not. I found that I felt the best when eating a lot of green salads, drinking green drinks and not consuming too much. Adding cleansing to a good diet, 1-2 times a year was the key for clarity, rest and re-newel. What I offer in cleanses is a relaxed and supportive environment for your personalized cleanse with lots of information to continue a healthy life.
